Are Betta Pellets Too Big

A betta s stomach is the size of its eye and those pellets are almost that.

Are betta pellets too big. I have aqueon betta pellets laying around from before and these are about 0 5 mm thick and can fit in his mouth but these pellets are obviously. If i forget or a piece is still too big he does the same thing yours does. So in a lot of cases your betta will spit food out a couple of times because he literally can t swallow it.

Or is my betta just super picky. I have new life spectrum beta pellets that are 1 mm thick and my new betta is pretty small he can never get these in his mouth. My betta also barely eats them are the pellets too big.

The most common reason your betta is spitting out food is simply that it s too big. Your betta s stomach is roughly the size of its eyeball and some pellets are even bigger than that. I would suggest only feeding him 2 3 of those per feeding once or twice per day i usually feed once day and have had my happy betta for 2 years now.

Is it bad food. I cut split them in half but then they sink. Betta pellets are too big.

Yeah i wouldn t use flakes. I feed my bettas new life spectrum pellets which are super small but still too big for one of my bettas. So i use my fingernail to cut it in half.
