Betta Doesn T Flare At Reflection
I have him on his own in a 30 gallon tank which has been properly filtered and has a heater and all of that good stuff.
Betta doesn t flare at reflection. People often give them mirrors to see them flare their colors but it can actually stress them out and therefor may speed up their death. If your betta flares constantly and doesn t stop after a few days then there are some simple things you can do to reduce the reflection and put your fish at ease. Hes never been very agressive and at one point he was housed with another male betta who was at the end of his life and they got along just fine but he would.
Occasional flaring is normal and healthy behavior. I ve been keeping fish for a long time but i ve never had a betta. Betta s are fighting fish they don t get along with other fish.
A small bit of flaring is good as it serves to. After all he s only a fish. I plan to get some live plants and other random things for him but i haven t had time.
Betta doesnt flare up ok so my betta who got trapped behind the air tube the other day is regaining his colour but his fins are down and he wont flare at himself in the mirror. I ve never heard a male betta not trying to fight himself lol. Betta fish flaring at reflection he won t stop i got a new male betta fish this week and he s currently living in a 3 gallon tank but he s driving himself nuts and attacking his reflection i tried adjusting the lights but there s still one side where he still sees it.
The reflection is caused by the angle at which the light is hitting the glass. If you think your betta is seeing his own reflection then not only will he be pacing up and down the side of the tank but he ll also be flaring. I got a betta yesterday.
Betta flaring at reflections. Betta fish flare their gills and spread their fins out to make themselves look as big and intimidating as possible. Often the easiest fix is to adjust the light.
