Betta Eating His Own Fins
Ok so a few weeks ago my dad bought me a crowntail betta.
Betta eating his own fins. Now that the conditions are just right he freaks out on me. If you notice more clean looking deterioration then it could be tail biting. My betta s at first wouldn t eat.
Anyway at first he would attack his reflection but he doesn t do it as often anymore. My betta has no sign of illness or parasites. My betta fish doris a very intelligent confident and curious dude suddenly took to eating his fins.
Seems its quite common. I named him frodrick from the young frankenstein. Betta fin rot symptoms.
My betta is in a 5 gallon tank he doesn t really swim around much he likes to stick behind the filter. Might be worth trying some more plants in his tank perhaps even use them tea bags you can get for tannin might have a calm effect on him. Put it right in his face.
They eventually get hungry. I can t tell if my betta is ripping his own fins apart or he has fin rot. Plenty of speculation so if you ve all bases covered with regards his tank then a little change can t harm.
Below i left a before and after. However when he s biting his own tail they re going to look clean. I did an intank cycle with him so conditions weren t always perfect and he carried on like a trouper.
