Betta Eats Pellet Then Spits It Out
I mix it with blood worms.
Betta eats pellet then spits it out. However this doesn t mean he s not eating. You very well may just have a finicky eater. You may try soaking the pellets bloodworms in some tank water before feeding.
If its lethargy the most common problem is the water temperature if you raise the temperature with a heater then it could possibly be the size of the tank or the condition of your water. Although if he s just spitting out and not attempting to eat anymore i would suggest trying betta flakes. Bought him some betta pellets now and he keeps doing the same thing he eats chews spits it out then catches it again chews spits it out and then i usually have to fish it out of the tank.
So in a lot of cases your betta will spit food out a couple of times because he literally can t swallow it. So he only eats 2. My betta eat pellets but he would just spit it out later.
He eats them at first when i got him but then now he won t swallow the pellets. My betta actually prefers flakes and spits out pellets. This one refuses to eat pellets or flakes no matter what he will spit it out.
I even did what you did on the last one but it quickly had more trouble with the flakes and ignored them while getting better at the pellets. Between my children and i we have had 5 betas over the years and 4 out of 5 started out that way. I ve had my betta for 5 days.
My betta will only eat one pebble then spit out the rest. This may make it easier for your fish to consume. The most common reason your betta is spitting out food is simply that it s too big.
