Betta Eyes Changing Color
A few days later i noticed they were back to full black.
Betta eyes changing color. Cloudy eye is most likely going to be caused by poor water quality. A bloodstained eye is most commonly associated with physical aggression. He used to have pretty blue eyes and now they re all black is this normal.
However it can sometimes be caused by a nutrition deficiency or if your betta is old cataracts. As well as getting old or being stressed the color change can also be brought about by disease. For example if your betta is suffering from velvet they may begin to look more gold like.
The photo i posted previously was taken just last week and his tail was still white. Last weekend however i came home and noticed his pupils were light metallic blue while the outside was black. I did move him into a different tank and he s nearer to all the activity in the house and i think he likes that better.
For the past few days though one of his eyes started changing color. A few minutes ago i fed him and his pupils were blue again. The main reasons for betta fish losing color are aging illness stress or multi color or marblation.
Marble colors are due to mutation in genes. My husbandry is right on point so i know it shouldn t be caused by anything environmentally speaking. They could look cloudy or milky this occurs when the cornea has ruptured but it could also look bloodstained.
Movement of these. Most of the time this color change will be to white however the white could vary depending on the disease. I ve had my betta fish for about a month and a half now and from what i ve noticed he s always had pure black eyes.
