Betta Fish Doesn T Like Pellets
I know that doesn t seem like much but to put things into perspective a betta fish s stomach is about the same size as his eye.
Betta fish doesn t like pellets. It just doesn t work. 10 times before i finally spoon it out to save him from the frustration. Most pet stores have a freezer cabinet inside is an array of healthy foods for bettas brineshrimp daphnia mysis bloodworm and too many to mention.
All are likely to appeal to a betta. And when you consider that most betta pellet foodstuffs swell to roughly twice their size when wet you can see that it doesn t take much food to fill up a betta s tummy. He doesn t have to eat flakes or pellets if he doesn t like them a variety of frozen food will keep him healthy and are far more natural than flake and pellets.
He spits it out like. But well it doesn t mean that you also have to keep playing in their row and have to get a cat or dog you can get yourself a different animal. Hopefully she adapts in time but i give a few flakes to make sure she has something.
My dwarf gourami doesn t like pellets either i think because she was so used to flakes so i throw a few flakes in once a day after feeding the pellets. It doesn t have to take bites like it would of fish flakes and it won t get choked on the chunks of food. Some like to go for a dog some settle with a cat.
My betta shy guy is very lethargic often hanging out on the bottom of his tank or the top just sitting on his betta leaf it takes forever to coax him to eat in the mornings when i feed him and when i finally get him to eat he doesn t eat very much. Before you ask me what the parameters are i can t tell you. Pellets are easier to feed cleaner and more nutritious.
My betta wont eat a whole pellet but crushed pellets. There are a few different types of betta fish food and betta fish treats you can look into. Once they get a taste of live or frozen foods they will usually turn their noses up at pellets or flakes next time you try them.
