Betta Fish Eat Ghost Shrimp
As i mentioned above they are good tank mates.
Betta fish eat ghost shrimp. One of these is a prawn species that can get up to several inches long. But sometimes the fish will eat the fry of the ghost shrimp that is something that you cant prevent and will happen all the time unless the betta is removed from the tank. And if you re wondering yes ghost shrimp will help eat algae in the tank.
They re very aggressive and will attack other fish. But i dont know if he ate his buddies or not shock2. They are more likely to emerge from their hiding places during the night as there is less of a chance to be eaten but if they are comfortable enough with their surroundings and other fish in the tank they will regularly be out foraging in the foreground.
However all of the live foods meats and veggies you may feed. If you buy pellets or flakes specifically designed for betta fish a ghost shrimp can eat these without issue although they may not prefer them. Will bettas eat the shrimps.
You may even notice sometimes that your ghost shrimp will swim to the top of the tank to eat your bettas food. I looked in his tank this morning and he was fine. But the 2 shrimp could not be found.
I got a new betta fish last night d he had 2 ghost shrimp buddies which i thought would be kinda cool to have in my 10 gallon tank. I own a ten gallon tank with a filter heater and a fish tank light. These are all things that a ghost shrimp will also eat.
Bettas and shrimps will get along just nice. Ghost shrimp are great beginner shrimp and if you add them into your tank you know they re going to keep themselves to themselves. So whatever your betta doesn t eat your ghost shrimp will.
