Betta Fish Egg Bound

If it is dropsy how long is it usually before fish dies.

Betta fish egg bound. In the last month they both have become swollen. Hand stripping a betta fish you could kill it if you do it wrong. I ve had them since they were babies and this one was very bright blue and always the most hyper aggressive out of the bunch.

1 point 3 years ago. Do i need to be concerned or will this pass naturally. You need to hand strip it and its hard to do with a betta.

I read though that females can become egg bound and if left untreated it can be fatal. In effort to induce the eggs being released in cae in was egg bound i did fast her for two days and after that fed her shelled blanced pea pieces which she ate readily. I m still not sure why.

Is there anything i need to do to make sure she ll be okay and pass the eggs. They remain active and have healthy appetites. Yes fish is still eating.

My son has 2 female bettas in a divided tank since last halloween. Female bettas will not get egg bound unless you are breeding them with a male in which case they will put their eggs in a bubble nest or if you have a divided tank with a male and female betta divided. She s always handled water changes fine and nothing stressed her out.

I think my female betta is egg bound. So i have four female bettas separated in one tank. We feed them every few days so i don t think we re over feeding them.
