And in cases where they fight each other the fights can last up to 15 minutes. Betta aren t nearly as aggressive with other types of fish as they are with each other and in fact can live quite happily in community tanks if you carefully choose the species they live with. As they mature all male betta will start to fight each other and most will be killed.
