Betta Pellets Or Flakes
The majority of betta fish prefer a pellet diet.
Betta pellets or flakes. I only feed him pellets or freeze dried brine shrimp. It can be hard to ration how much you give your betta every day because they re harder to measure. I have about 5 years of observing and keeping them and have come to a conclusion that the best food is brine shrimp and bloodworms.
As well as using betta pellets you can also use betta flakes. Feeding a variety of different foods will provide the array of nutrients a betta fish needs to thrive. These hikari betta bio gold baby pellets in particular have always been very well received by all of my bettas even the picky eaters.
I have read a few posts about what best to feed bettas and its a mixed response from people having success with both just wondering what everybody s thoughts are on this. Flakes also tend to dirty the water faster but it s all up to preference in the end. And it s not just the fact that they re not as nutritional.
The first problem is that your betta just isn t used to eating pellet or flake food. It s easier to see how much food your betta is getting with pellets. By nicky117 3 years ago on general freshwater questions.
One of the best things about these pellets is that aside from a few pellets that like to do their own thing they float. I also feed them frozen blood worms once a week as a treat both are formulated for them so both are good for them but flakes may muck up water quality. If you think either one is the case then you should try mixing up the food until you find something your betta.
Yes i agree my betta completely refuse to eat flakes or pellets. Flakes don t tend to be used as much for bettas because they re generally a little bit less nutritional. So if you re feeding them pellets or flakes there may be two problems.
