Betta Tank Has Film On Top
If you have a large tank or a particularly large oil spill you may need to repeat this process multiple times until there is no oil remaining.
Betta tank has film on top. You should do a water change. I did this on my 2 5 gallon tank no filter so the film was normal from what he read about standing water and it worked well. Or it could be some chemical that.
Until then he s in his one gallon tank. Once the oil has settled lay a paper towel over the surface for a few moments before removing it. So 3 days ago i got a 1 gallon betta tank with no filter i saw this morning when i dropped the food pellet into it that it caused a clear spot in the top level which soon closed up and i was wondering if this was something to be alarmed about.
I put my finger across it and the stuff came off on my finger. So i m waiting for my 10 gallon tank to cycle before i can put my male betta in it. I have 14 bettas currently and i have noticed often the bubble nest can reduce flow to a certain area of the tank which encourages a bio film which can happen for a big variety of reasons as it starts then it can get all across the tank this also can happen when the sponge filters aren t pumping as good as normal or if i have them in breeding tanks.
Last night i realized that he has this whitish milki ish film on the top of his water in his tank. The film on top of the water means there s something other than water in the tank that s separating out to the top. It could be food that dissolved which you don t want in the water.
Got all the film out and didn t come back til i changed the water again.
