Betta Water Too Hot

As a result betta fish will start breathing rapidly or float towards the surface in search of oxygen. The low oxygen levels will hinder their respiration which will eventually damage their metabolism s rate. It will be cooking albeit slowly.

So 87 degrees fahrenheit and above is too hot for betta fish. If your water is getting too hot then try performing a partial water change of 5 10. You don t want to drop the temperature too rapidly.

Perform a water change. However if the water temperature in your aquarium exceeds 86 degrees your pet fish will no longer be surviving. You will see your betta hovering at the surface of the water gulping air in order to get enough oxygen in their system.
