Changed betta water and died. I had one betta fish that died the day after changing his water. I put in the cleaner and then put the fish in right away but when i woke up he was turned upside down and his underside was bloated. That i saw i think your water may have been to different when you changed to dirty to clean.
Just like when you add a new betta to your tank whenever you perform a 100 water change your betta needs to acclimatize. I use a water conditioner ant usually wait about an hour or so. Was it some sort of disease.
I had had him in the same tank with same decorations and stuff for about a month. I always did a full water change for my first betta once a week. Shock from water changes.
If wiping out beneficial bacteria turns out to be the problem you could pour in a bacteria starting supplement in the water which will take some time to take effect. I probably should have known though because the night before he wasn t eating and his gills seemed inflamed and red. I don t understand why this happened.
My betta fish died after i changed its water. When it died i just thought maybe i didn t wait long enough. Then i bought one at our local meijers store he was blue named levi he died 3 days later.
Yesterday i got a new fish and set up the old tank. When i lost him i was heart broken. The problem is there s no real way you can get your betta to acclimatize when you perform a water change.
