Female Betta In Community Tank
Males can be hit and miss and a bit of a gamble.
Female betta in community tank. The community was established for 2 3 months we got two females from the same sorority tank in the shop and put them in together in the community tank. Anyway i ve decided to do the 1 betta in community tank thing instead of the 6 bettas. How many can be kept per gallon.
The key to creating a community tank with a female betta or sorority is. They have shorter fins and they aren t usually as colorful. Our female bettas were added last.
You can put lots of female bettas in a 55g tank. They get large but don t get territorial. As to other fish females are usually ok in the community aquarium.
If you plan to keep a sorority of females each additional fish will need an extra 5 gallons. A single female betta needs a tank of at least 10 gallons. But i ll still be sure to add her last.
10 gallon 1 female betta a nice double tail probably. They don t fight and love flightless fruit flies. However they can do fine in a community tank and the same rules apply.
Usually with passive males you can put one betta with other fish that are not bettas and that is it. Keeping them as part of a community will require a bigger tank. They settled very quickly.
