Male Betta Community Tank
No worries i wouldn t put them with barbs or anything nippy.
Male betta community tank. If you have a single male betta fish you may be thinking of finding some tank mates to keep him company or adding him into a community tank environment so he isn t so lonely. I originally had the tank separated but he got around the divider. I have had male bettas in community tanks with no problems.
This has probably been asked before so forgive me but is there anything male bettas can be kept with. He s been with the other fish for a few days now and seems pretty content. I m pretty knowledgeable about bettas but i m not experienced with them being in a community tank.
The males only get homicidal truly homicidal when they are with another male. They are happy together. It s a heavily planted 120 gallon tank with 6 bolivian rams 20 rainbow emperor tetras 30 pygmy cories and 40 otocinclus.
There d be less aggression if any and if your betta was aggressive the fish could easily get away. In the past every community tank i ve had would either have something the betta would harass or something that might harass the betta so i never got one. Hey my friend has a male betta that he s kept in a tiny glass jar for a couple of months.
I have a 15 gallon tank that lightly planted will change soon and its empty i tried putting in my only betta blue but the current was strong so hes stayed in his 2 5 now im thinking of. But i just realized my current setup might actually work. Under the right condition and environment there are many betta fish tank mates that can live with male or female bettas in the aquarium.
I noticed as the tetras matured that they d occasionally make a nipping motion at his fins but they never got any and he d warn them off. If you have a large enough space and a betta that is not aggressive betta s can live with many different types of fish in perfect harmony. Space is kind of tight so i was wondering if i could plop the fellow into my 57 gal community tank.
