My Betta Fish Keeps Spitting Out Its Food
My betta keeps spitting his food out.
My betta fish keeps spitting out its food. My betta fish is spitting out food has not eaten for 5 days. Don t be alarmed if the betta spits out its food. And he looks healthy to me.
Your betta s stomach is roughly the size of its eyeball and some pellets are even bigger than that. The most common reason your betta is spitting out food is simply that it s too big. He seems perfectly fine to look at as in he is happy when he is swimming around but after every meal he keeps throwing up.
Try some live bloodworms or live brine shrimp if all else fails either one will almost always entice your betta into eating. He keeps on throwing up after eating and i am really worried. Beta usually eat by pulling in the food and spitting it out a few times to make sure it is good.
Even if i dont feed him for a day but i feed him the next he just spits it out. My last fish did not eat for like 1 week. My suggestion is to switch to a different type of betta food and give him a treat often like blood worms.
Portion too big for your betta fish. He keeps doing this even when the food falls to the bottom of the bowl he will go pick it up and spit it out and go to another piece of food and do the same thing. He seems interested when i offer him another piece but does the same thing all over again then doesn t take any more food.
However this doesn t mean he s not eating. I have recently just got a betta about 5 days again and he is sick. By tifa601 2 years ago on tropical fish.
