My Betta Has Ich

Ich is also common among aging betta fish.

My betta has ich. My betta fish has ich. The white dots were only on the translucent parts of his fins and i was not sure if it was ich or not but it got a little worse so i treated his tank with api super ich cure. Emily on september 30 2018.

However if left untreated ich can quickly build up and become fatal. I know it doesnt have anything to do with my water quality because i already had it tested with perfect ph ammonia etc. What if you just got a betta and you realize that the betta his ick.

Anyway i know now that it was from the store i bought him from. The easiest way identify whether your betta fish has ich or not is visually. Ich is an incredibly easy illness to treat and as long as you catch it early enough your betta has a very strong chance of survival.

The level of severity will depend on how many white spots the betta fish has. My betta has ongoing ich or some other type of white fungus on its top fin. So i noticed these small white dots last wednesday and i didn t want to jump into medication right away so i waited for 2 days.

So if your betta does have ich it s not going to be fatal if you treat it quickly. But make no mistake if left it will kill your fish. Ich parasites look like small granules of salt or sugar speckled across their body gills and finnage.

My betta has ick and there are harlequin rasboras in the tank are they ok for treatment even if they dont have ick.
