Will A Female Betta Eat Shrimp
If you re worried about your shrimp being.
Will a female betta eat shrimp. All the cherry shrimp in your tank can eat it for the nutrients. That doesn t mean you can t keep other fish with bettas but you do need to be careful. Will bettas eat amano shrimp.
Make sure you re giving them plenty of placed to hide. Secondly remember that your cherry shrimp is going to molt. Anyways would it be possible to get some cherry shrimp as tankmates.
When they molt they are at their most vulnerable and your betta may try to eat them. A female cherry shrimp will grow to 1 inch but the males will be a lot smaller. That said its most likely that other fish including your betta will eat many of the baby shrimp.
Anyway the shared aquarium should also have enough plants in order to prevent any potential conflicts. Because cherry shrimp are smaller you can normally put them in a smaller tank albeit with less of them. Unfortunately there is not really any way to prevent this from happening unless the female shrimp is removed from the tank before spawning and placed into a separate breeding tank.
If you only want 10 shrimp and a betta then a 5 gallon tank is a great choice. Will ghost shrimps eat betta food. Like i said the ph is swaying about at the moment.
And don t worry about removing their old exoskeleton. A 10 gallon planted tank could sustain a small colony of ghost shrimp while giving them enough space to hide from the betta when needed. I m planning on getting a female betta fish once the ph in the tank is stable and the nitrite is 0.
