Betta Fish Died After A Year
On average bettas in captivity live to 3 5 years once you remove the extremely high premature death rate due to poor husbandry shipping pet store conditions and due to ignorance of many betta buyers.
Betta fish died after a year. My male betta fish ricky he died just now after i had him for 3 years and i didn t know what went wrong but i feel that he died of an old age but i know that isn t one of the reasons why. I assumed that he was sick because he was just old. So don t feel too bad about losing the little guy.
I hope you take this as a learning lesson and come back to fish after a while. I think if mine died right about now i d be crushed. I just had my first betta fish olivier die on friday.
It s not your fault man. I already know of several reasons. So i went to petsmart yesterday to buy this betta it looked healthy so thats the one i picked i took it home and put it into my fish tank and filled it up with tap sink water is that what killed it i put the water about warm but a little cold when i put my betta into the fish tank it seemed really happy.
They live in murky brown water and have a life span of 2 years. I failed on so many levels and there were so many things i didn t understand. The betta fish is very territorial and it can live alone comfortably however it does not mind living with other tank mates.
I feel that buying a fish at walmart can or could be a bad idea because i heard that sometimes they don t clean out the tanks properly and leave dead fish etc in there rather than taking them out. My daughter s been asking for a fish tank for years. After a month my betta died.
He had been sick for about a month but i was completely clueless on what to do. While you think your betta may have died suddenly in fact he could have been dying over a period of time without you realizing. It has a life span of approximately three to five years.
