Betta Fish Eating Detritus Worms

Just feeding fotomaki my betta fish some blood worms.

Betta fish eating detritus worms. No one wants to find tiny worms wriggling around in their betta fish tank. But my betta eats at least one a day. Bettas are cold blooded which means a lot of their energy is based on the temperature around them.

Can my betta eat detritus worms. Sometimes you may notice a betta fish not eating because of the temperature in the tank. He could identify this particular box as opposed to the other one which had pellets in it.

From what few i ve read it seems they aren t harmful but i come here to ask and make sure because i tend to trust this community more lol. Bettas love to eat live worm. I saw a worm that are crawling on my bettas fish tank glass and it isn t planeria but it looks like detritus worms but it was crawling on the glass.

By teresa 1 year ago on tropical fish. Today i noticed i have what i think are detritus worms in my tank. A female betta is less aggressive than a male but it s hard to predict their behaviors to the amanos espcially when they are hungry and without food.

So i have a planted 20l with a betta a snail and harlequin rasboras. I have detritus worms in my tank and ive learned to except them as part of the tank cuz no matter how hard i try they dont go away. If you spot a mass of tiny stringy white worms living in the substrate those are most likely detritus worms these creatures feed on uneaten food fish waste and general detritus in your tank hence the worms name.

They are more aggressive to their own kind and to other fish with similar size or smaller.
