Betta fish pale losing color. Hi the tank is a bit small if you can get a bigger one that would be great. One of the reasons you bought your betta was because of its beautiful vibrant colors so you want to make sure your betta stays healthy and keeps that vibrant color for life. He is eating but he looks awful.
If your betta is naturally pale in color then they might very easily start looking whitish in color when they become stressed. He seems to be just lying around in the plants fake or on the bottom. Bettas are tropical and need a steady temperature of 78 80 degrees so a heater is a must a filter is also vital for the survival of any aquatic creature your fish will not thrive until you can get the correct equipment.
The fish may be suffering from white skin lesions or fungus. The salt helps with digestion issues since these are the most common issue with betta fish. Get rid of it if possible.

Put some no itch in the tank with the fish after u do a water change clean the tank then put the no itch in it keep the fish away from any other fish till it has cleared up if u caught it early enough u might be able to save him but if not im ss bettas noramally have a life span of 2 years some longer but the average life span is 2 years adn thats with proper care feeding water quality etc. Betta is losing color on top of body.
